What is happening to the old Border's Books location?
The old Border's Bookstore location at the corner of Scenic Highway and Ronald Reagan Parkway in Snellville (near Target) is going to be remodeled to become a PetSmart.
What's going in next to Joanne's in Snellville?
There is a new retail space being developed between FedEx/Kinko's and Joanne Etc.
The new store will be a Five Below store. A friend of mine has shopped at a Five Below before, and said that it was "kind of cross between a Dollar Tree and Big Lots."
Basically, everything is five dollars or less, hence the name, Five Below :)
You can get a little preview of their store philosophy by visiting the Five Below website.

Is Trader Joe's coming to Snellville?
People are asking me if a Trader Joe's store is coming to Snellville in the old Ethan Allen's furniture store spot at the Avenue.
I haven't found any evidence to support this idea (yet). Although I think it's a great idea, and from a quick Internet search I saw that Trader Joe's does indeed have a history of revamping old Ethan Allen locations..
However, I think at this time it's just someone's wishful thinking. Time will tell though!

New McDonalds and Del Taco on Scenic Hwy Snellville
If you noticed building going on near the Border's Bookstore on Scenic Hwy (in the Publix shopping center), that is going to be a McDonald's restaurant (the space used to be Fuddrucker's).
Del Taco will be building in the old Fazoli's location. Learn more about that here: Snellville Del Taco

New in Snellville
UNFORTUNATELY, this store is now closed.
B & B Flea Market and Antiques has moved from their old location on Scenic Hwy near US78 to the Crown Point Plaza, located between Mellow Mushroom and CVS near Rockdale Circle and US78. I talked to the owner and he would love for you to drop in. He said everyone is free to look and enjoy, even just for a walk down 'Memory Lane.'

McDonalds to build on old Fuddruckers location in Snellville
McDonald's has plans to remove the old Fuddrucker's building on Scenic Highway and build a new McDonald's restaurant on that spot. It's one of the spaces in front of Publix in the Presidential Market Shopping Center at the corner of Scenic Hwy/124 and Ronald Reagan Parkway. I'm sure the McDonald's will be very busy!
